Choose a module

All of these modules are included when you download Seir Anphin. You can install the ones you want at any time using the installation program. All of these modules are designed to take advantage of the core features of breadcrumbs, templates and one-click integration with your site.

There are three category-based modules: Article Publisher, Forums and File & Image Gallery. These use Seir Anphin's User Access system to allow you to specify which User Account levels can access which categories. You control who can post content and who can read it, from Guests to Administrators.

Article Publisher

A professional web publishing tool for presenting multi page documents. The article publishing module allows you to assign editors who must approve and publish articles before they are viewable by the public. Articles are sorted into categories and searchable via a full-text indexed search system.

More features:

  • Users can rate articles and articles can be sorted by these ratings.
  • Categories can be set to automatically approve articles for a relaxed editorial process.
  • Article authors can choose which links are generated for pages in their articles: numbered page links or a page jump linking to all pages.
  • Search Engine friendly META tags can be added to each page of an article to help users find relevant content.
  • "Send author feedback" allows readers to send private messages to article authors to help refine your online knowledge base.
  • View random articles.

Blogger

If you are running an online community than allowing your users to create their own blogs can greatly enhance interactivity and participation. Users can comment on one another's blog posts or set their blogs as private and viewable only by themselves.

A mini-calendar marks days on which a blog post has been made and RSS feeds allow readers to get the latest headlines at their convenience.

If you just want to run your own personal blogs you can do that as well. Blogs are highly configurable and each blog has settings for its own mini-profile, mini-calendar, and posts per page.

Forums

A full featured and powerful forum system, it supports everything you would expect of a stand-alone forum package.

Organize your community into categories, forums and subforums of unlimited depth. Forums automatically change the way they display when there is more than thirty subforums under one forum. Even massive communities can be properly organized with minimal maintenance required.

Keep up to date with RSS feeds and topic subscriptions. The forum summary page shows the first post in every topic from a given forum.

Interact on the forums and gain ranks based on post-count. Easily find unread topics with the topic status column on the topic list. It tells you the number of posts added since the last time you opened a given topic.

Learn about the size of discussions by scanning and sorting with topic size measured in bytes and shown on the topic list. Rate topics and find those rated the highest with the democratic topic rating system.

Search specific forums, topics or groups of forums for keywords using Seir Anphin's advanced index-based search tool. The forum system also uses the search tool automatically when new topics are created, to find several related topics and present these for further research when viewing a topic.

Manage using the Seir Anphin control panel and the Moderator control panel where appointed moderators can prune their forums and manage topic/post queues and watch over content.

File & Image Gallery

When adding categories to this module, you can make them either a file category or an image category. This affects the layout of the category and which options users have for uploading files.

File Categories
Maintain potentially large archives of files of any type with support for mirrors and multiple hosts using the file system. When adding a file to your database it can be an upload to your server or as a link to a file already present on your server or another. With the file hosts system, when a host goes down or changes location, you simply update the host record in the control panel, and all files using that host are immediately updated. You can also use this system to provide alternate links to the same file ensuring your users can always access it.

Image Galleries
Displayed as a table of thumbnails, image galleries allow your users to upload and comment on images of any kind. Thumbnails are automatically generated by the system, and if filenames can be generated automatically allowing you to create an archive quickly and without hassle.

More features:

  • The file index acts as the hub of the module, showing the newest added files and images, as well as popular files, some statistics, and a list of categories.
  • Users can comment on files.
  • Files are searchable by keywords in file name and description, and filtered by category.

Events Calendar

Plan community events or just plan your day. The calendar module allows users to RSVP to an event and for event creators to confirm their attendance and close the event when it's fully booked.

The calendar allows your users to organize live events with an RSVP system and private day planner. Using Seir Anphin's Buddy System, the calendar allows users to create events that only their friends can see, and automatically exclude those on their ignore lists.
